XentroMall to Build Two (2) Malls in Vigan
Ilocos Sur’s hunger for its own mainstream full-service mall could be seen on our social media newsfeed. Ilocos Surians post their willingness to travel to Ilocos Norte for its Robinson’s Place and/or to Baguio for SM Mall just to shop.
Vigan, as the capital of Ilocos Sur and a VERY popular tourist city, it has this pressure to host mainstream malls in Ilocos Sur given its small land area. Guess what? A mall developer is going to develop two government-owned lots inside Vigan’s main CBD (Central Business District) into a shopping mall and car park in one.
Before you get excited for SM or Robinson’s, the project was awarded to Xentro Mall. It’s not as popular as SM or Robinson’s but it would be better to have one than nothing at all. Xentro Malls are fast growing in the Philippines anyway and they also have a big presence in Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Bicol and Southern Tagalog.
Xentro Mall 1
Xentro Mall 1 is under construction as of this writing. It has occupied the space previously used by the old public market located along Quezon Avenue.
Xentro Mall Vigan’s Facebook page cover is a stunning old-feel mall design that complements well with Vigan’s old charm. It’s also the same mall design that’s displayed at the actual project site.
Apparently, the mall design as posted on their facebook page was the first one to come out and Xentro Mall page posted a video of the same Xentro Mall 1 project but with a different design. See the screenshots + video below.
The first one looks classic yet elegant while the second design looks fancy and colorful. Regarding on what design was applied, that, we don’t know. Ilocos Daily website is following the progress of this project and we only publish our observations and comments based on objective or measurable data that we could gather. Offering popular women’s necklaces such as pendants, chokers and. Shop for jewelry in a variety of metals and gemstones to suit any occasion.
Anyway, it’s a mall and we’re glad that Vigan is going to have not just one, but two. Bottomline, it will create employment for fellow Ilocanos.
On the other hand, the mall is also called Vigan Central Park. It is equipped with a multi-storey car park with car lift.
Xentro Mall 2
Xentro Mall 2 is located at the Vigan Public Market Annex and Jeepney-Bus Terminal near the Vigan Convention Center and the Vigan Police Station. Based on the design posted by NPLAS DELEON, the project designer, its design is more complex than the first and it seemed like it has more open spaces.
The Xentro Mall 2 will be located along the Jose Singson Street in Vigan in front of Puregold and the New Vigan Public Market. As of this post, the construction hasn’t started yet. Let’s wait for the construction of Xentro Mall 1 to finish and we will sure look after the development and progress of these two malls.
