WHO WE ARE

For over 15 years, XRC Resources has achieved success in various chains of business. From financial institution to money exchange, franchised food outlets, resort hotel and restaurants, XRC Resources eventually expanded its services and responded to more demand-driven markets. With time, it evolved into a community mall developer under the umbrella of XRI Mall Resources and Yuldalay Resources.

With the business acumen, innovativeness, and innate entrepreneurial spirit of proprietors, Alex and Aida Cruz, we were able to navigate our company to reach new heights despite risks and stiff market competition. In doing such, we also helped in... uplifting the lives of people in the communities where our malls are situated.

Following the building of small-scale commercial buildings in Marikina City, we initially ventured into the establishment of community malls in fast-growing cities and municipalities in Rizal Province like: Antipolo City, Morong, Angono, Tanay, Taytay, Binangonan and Montalban. Patterned after the strip malls in United States, these... establishments were designed to bring convenience and accessibility to customers.

These community malls were seen as the most promising, having leaders in the retail and food industries as its major tenants. These community malls which have been fully operational for the past ten years, are being occupied by retail industry giants such as SM Savemore Market, Robinsons Supermarket, National Bookstore, Watsons, Jollibee, Chowking, Shakey's Pizza, Goldilocks Bakeshop, Red Ribbon, Kodak, LBC, Western Union, Cebuana Lhuillier, Pandayan Bookshop, Rusty Lopez, among others. In some of our malls, you will also find Mcdonald's, Classic Savory, Mercury Drugstore, Japan Homes, Otto Shoes, Gibi Shoes, Penshoppe, Bench and RRJ Jeans. 

Each community mall occupies a sizeable land area and a well-planned location that exclusively caters to captive market of densely-populated area where each community mall is situated. The accessibility and convenience that these malls offer have been fuelling economic activity in flourishing towns and districts. These community malls also serve as a venue for small-scale businesses to innovate and compete with seasoned retailers in the country.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

True to our mission and vision of creating livelihood opportunities to the community and providing basic corporate social responsibility (CSR) services to its less-privileged residents, we have established the Xander Youth Foundation, which provides for the health and education needs of more than a hundred children to date and still growing in numbers each year.

Named in honor and memory of Xander, a loving son of Alex Cruz and Aida Cruz – who died of Aplastic anemia leukemia at a tender age of 17, the Xander Youth Foundation is quartered mainly at a three-story building in a former slum-like area of Daang Bakal, in Sto. Niño, Marikina, where at least 160 pre-school aged children are taught, fed and nurtured by a complete team of salaried teachers, administrative staff and community volunteers. The Cruz couple who swear that Xander, who has soft spot for their true guiding spirit and still visits them regularly in a form of a beautiful butterfly especially at a crucial time when they are to decide on something very important for their family business. The butterfly is said to be Xander’s favorite creature. He even once said before his death that “My spirit will fly as a very happy butterfly”

To keep the Xander Youth Foundation moving with other CSR projects such as building chapels and learning centers in urban poor settlements, feeding programs and the skills and livelihood training for out-of-school youths and adults, Mr. and Mrs. Cruz has set aside a certain percentage in some of their businesses to fund the foundation.

Xander Youth Foundation has also branched out its outreached programs in some of their properties in the areas of Rizal province to include teaching of the out-of-school youths with valuable skills and livelihood education and training in partnership with the government agencies, such as Technology Resource Center (TRC) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)

OUR FUTURE PLANS

As a principle-centered company commited to business excellence and high ethical standards, we are gearing up for greater challenges and opportunities by commiting to build at least five community malls each year.

• Build More, Save More: We are looking forward to expand services in communities near Metro Manila as well as in distant provinces. Among our projects that are in the pipeline are the community malls in Balagtas, Bulacan; Ilagan, Roxas, Cabagan, Tumauini and Santiago City, Isabela; Antipolo City, Tanay, Morong, Angono-Binangonan, Rizal; San Pablo City, Laguna; Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Sto. Tomas, Bauan and Lemery in Batangas; General Trias and Silang, Cavite; Palawan and Calapan, Oriental Mindoro, and there’s no stopping us, we will soon be exploring Mindanao with Zamboanga City as our gateway in our desire to spread our malls across the whole Philippine archipelago.
• Provide Venue for Cultural Preservation: We want to be a catalyst in the preservation of the Filipino’s rich cultural heritage by providing an activity center that will serve as a venue for artists, youth, budding entrepreneurs to show-case their talents, arts and crafts.
• Create a Steady Source of Funds for Corporate Social Responsibility Projects: In order to strengthen our corporate social responsibility arm, Xander Youth Foundation, we established the XRC Resources Commercial Buildings, which will provide a fixed percentage of its total revenues for its CSR projects.
